The organisers of the World Congress in Otsu, Japan Professors Y. Nikawa and Motoyasu Sato and their Committee decided to instigate a Ricky (AC) Metaxas Pioneer Award and to be awarded first at Otsu and then at subsequent venues.

 

 

From 1983 until 2002 he was head of the Electricity Utilisation Group (E.U.G) at the Engineering Department, University of Cambridge, UK, researching on many aspects of electroheat, electro-technology and power utilisation. Since 2002 he has transferred his operations to St John’s College, Cambridge.

 

Ricky was President of AMPERE from 1995 until 2005.

AMPERE organises a biennial conference. FRANCE will host the next in the series during September 2011. Venue and full details will be uploaded in the AMPERE website early in the New Year
